The Shenyang Conservatory of Music

I visited the Shenyang Conservatory of Music.A colleague of mine, Mr.Wang teaches at the Conservatory. The Conservatory is the biggest in northern China and offers a variety of courses, for example, popular music,Chinese ethnic music, dancing, musical education, and of course classical music. There are concert halls, cafeterias, dormitories for students and teachers, grounds, lesson rooms on campus. One of the buildings is in the old Russian style. I gave lessons 3 students from junior high school to university level. They were all male and studied the trumpet under Mr.Wang. They were taller than me, I looked like a child! I really appreciated this opportunity. I would like to continue this friendship.

先日、中国の瀋陽音楽学院に行ってきました。芸大で一緒に勉強した王さんが先生をしてらっしゃるご縁です。思っていたよりとっても大きい学校でびっくりしました。中国の北部で1番大きい音楽学院だそうです。コースもクラシックはもちろん、ポピュラー、民族音楽、舞踊、音楽教育などたくさんあります。

広々とした敷地にはたくさんのレッスン室はもちろん、学生と先生のための寮、食堂、グラウンド、コンサートホールなどがあります。コンサートホールではたくさんのコンサートが行われていて、有名なアーティストがきているようです。この日は夜の踊りの発表会のリハをしていました。ロシア時代に建てられた建物もありましたよ。


王さんの研究室もある建物の上の方にあって、とっても素敵なお部屋でした。

音楽学院ではようどオーケストラのリハがあったようですが、附属の中学校と高校の生徒さんも来ていて、中学、高校、大学とそれぞれ1人ずつ3人の学生さんのレッスンをさせてもらいました。王先生のもと、よく勉強されていました。中国語は全く出来ないので、王先生と息子さんが交代で通訳してくださいました。

それにしてもみんな大きい！先生が子供みたい ^^;
